چکیده
Abstract. The Gulf of Guinea is a very active area with respect to maritime traffic as well oil and gas exploitation. Due the failure some actors comply environmental standards, this region has been subject large number pollution episodes. This anthropogenic in addition natural seepage from ocean floor. study aims detect slicks analyse their spatial distribution using synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) images. Previous works have already locally mapped area; however, our knowledge, first achieve global statistical analysis based on 10 years images covering 17 exclusive economic zones (EEZs) Guinea. present database 3644 SAR collected between 2002 2012 by Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) sensor onboard European Spatial Agency (ESA) Envisat mission, these allowed identification 18 063 slicks. available Zenodo: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6470470 (Najoui, 2022b). detected work encompass both spills origin seeps (natural reservoir leaks). Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar Observations with Clusters of Sar Satellites
This paper provides an overview over the advantages and applications of clusters of SAR satellites. It describes the orbit mechanisms for stable configuration flights and how they have evolved from ERS Tandem to the Interferometric CartWheel. The applications, which are described in detail, are superresolution and polarimetric InSAR volume probing for biomass estimation.
متن کاملThe Object Detection Efficiency in Synthetic Aperture Radar Systems
The main purpose of this paper is to develop the method of characteristic functions for calculating the detection characteristics in the case of the object surrounded by rough surfaces. This method is to be implemented in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems using optimal resolution algorithms. By applying the specified technique, the expressions have been obtained for the false alarm and cor...
متن کاملNatural and unnatural oil slicks in the Gulf of Mexico
When wind speeds are 2-10 m s-1, reflective contrasts in the ocean surface make oil slicks visible to synthetic aperture radar (SAR) under all sky conditions. Neural network analysis of satellite SAR images quantified the magnitude and distribution of surface oil in the Gulf of Mexico from persistent, natural seeps and from the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) discharge. This analysis identified 914 nat...

Università di Cagliari for the suggestions and the stimulating discussions. SAR data used in the studies. Finally, I have to thank to my family and to Raffaella: without their support all this would have never been possible.
متن کاملStudy of subsidence of Abarkooh plain of Yazd using the Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry method
Abstract The population growth, the development of cities, industry, agriculture, and improper use of resources especially non-renewable resources have led human beings to face the danger of running out of resources. In some cases, in addition to the above, irreversible environmental and geological hazards have occurred due to the overdrawn of resources. Over extraction of groundwater resourc...
